1) How should the Testimony of Faith (Shahadah) be pronounced?

1. Silently in ones heart
2. It is optional and may be pronounced verbally or in ones heart.
3. Verbally
4. It should not be pronounced rather it should be submitted to a higher religious authority in writing.

2) After converting to Islam:

1. the family name or ones father’s name should be retained.
2. the family name or ones father’s name should be changed.
3. the family name or ones father’s name should be changed only if it is an impermissible name.
4. whether the family name or ones father’s name should or should not be changed is a matter of choice.

3) The utterance of the Testimony of Faith (Shahadah):

1. should be done publically before a large audience to witness the conversion.
2. need not be done before anyone and may be said to oneself.
3. should be done before a person of high authority such as an Imam.
4. should be done only in privacy.

4) It is better for an uncircumcised male to get circumcised after converting to Islam because:

1. it makes him a more pious Muslim.
2. it makes him more in control of his desires.
3. it is an act of courage.
4. it makes it easier to clean oneself, and maintain cleanliness, after passing urine or emitting semen.

5) An uncircumcised male after converting to Islam:

1. must have himself circumcised for his conversion to be valid.
2. may have himself circumcised in all circumstances.
3. must have himself circumcised unless there is a valid reason for not doing so.
4. should not have himself circumcised at all as it has no benefit.
